Learning how to read and developing a love for reading are both extremely important aspects of 1st grade! Students have many books available to them to read in the classroom, and books to take home and read with their families nightly.
However, by providing a group of Chromebooks to our classroom, these can be utilized during Daily 5 or small group instruction, by using reading websites (such as Raz-Kids and Benchmark Advance) to offer students e-books at their specific reading level and further enhance their learning.
Students can listen to stories, read stories aloud or to a friend, take quizzes to test their comprehension or other skills, and take ownership of their learning!
