I teach at a high-poverty, Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Over the course of my first year teaching, I have learned so much about my amazing students. They have shown me how ambitious, intelligent, caring and invested they are in their education despite their circumstances. I have also learned how crucial having basic tools for instruction is in the classroom. If I as their teacher am able to provide these tools for them then learning will be more enjoyable and productive because a lot of stress will be alleviated.
