Students learn best by doing. The activities that I have chosen are both fun and engaging. The rhyming and sight word activities will provide opportunities for students to work independently or in small groups. They are self-checking so students will have immediate feed-back.
Students take ownership of their learning when they are fully engaged. I have witnessed first hand how students naturally extend their learning and take it to the next level when they do not even realize they are learning. Building a strong foundation in reading and writing is key to future success and these hands-on activities will help provide that foundation.
