Visuals, Visuals, Visuals! So important to have in our classroom. Being able to provide the students with colored visuals will help them to succeed with the curriculum. Our school only has printers with black and white ink, which are not beneficial for my learners. My learners rely on visuals as their mode of speech. We create books filled with icons so that the students can communicate with us in a way that makes it possible to do so. Many books that we read, are modified or created by myself to include colorful pictures and velcro. This allows for students to physically engage in the story. They often times are given picture icons to match within the story.
