Most students learn the best through experiences that they can relate to and ones that they themselves are a part of. Using a real-life model skeleton and a dis-articulated skeleton in the learning of the skeletal system will allow high school students to experience exactly what their skeleton does for them and why the bones are formed they way they are. The skeletons also allow for the use of reusable water-based clay to construct the human anatomy on top of the bones to see how they are the foundation of the body. The building of muscles, blood vessels, nerves, the brain and overall body organs/systems are possible using these skeletons. This approach will transform what was once a very difficult exercise in rote memorization to an intuitively memorable, profound, and dynamic experience. They will develop an indelible understanding of the anatomy and biomechanics of the structures we share by building their confidence and mastery of form and function of the human body.
