This carpet will be used for students to sit on during morning meeting. During Morning Meeting students are practicing important social skills that will benefit them both socially and academically. Morning Meeting is broken down into four subgroups; greeting, sharing, activity and message. The greeting is when students high-five another student in the class and tells them they are happy they are here today. Sharing is when students share different things with the class. The activity is usually hands on. Finally, the message is when we use words of affirmation to help us for the day. Morning Meeting sets the tone for the rest of the day. Through these meetings students also learn respect for each other and themselves, cooperation, problem solving and trust.
