I am requesting a multitude of engaging Rigby books (over fifty different titles!) to use with my Reading Recovery students.
In my classroom, I keep materials and books for each student in a separate drawer so that they can be easily accessible during the lesson. I already have many of the titles that I am asking for, but I need multiple copies that can be used with several different students. Since I already have used most of these books with previous students I know that they are appealing to children. Some of the titles include, "Biscuit" "Brown Mouse Plays a Trick" "The Hungry Kitten" and "Wishy Washy Day." Some of the amazing authors I have requested in this project include Joy Cowley, Rigby, and Alyssa Satin Caoucilli- all well known authors of great children's literature. Furthermore, these titles are comprised of different levels that will provide my students with opportunities to promote their strategic reading behaviors.
Having easy access to books of all levels, genres, and topics is the number one way to get a child to learn to love reading. By having a large classroom library stocked with books that I know my students will love, I will be able to provide my own students many opportunities to read and to become great readers! My end goal is for them to get them to love reading and feel confident when doing it!
