Many students really do love to read, but sometimes the classics don't speak to them. I hope to sustain (and in some cases, reignite) their love of reading by having a library of high-interest books right at their fingertips. The 10th grade Reading Workshop students met with four media specialists (two from our district, and two from the local library) and one middle school teacher to compile this grand list of must-have books.
The author John Green was a popular choice for all students. Graphic novels came in at a tight second choice, and students loved the language and art of Doug TenNapel.
These books will rekindle their love of reading. We can't wait to get started!
