Teaching with STEM allows all learners to be successful. Not all learners get what they need sitting in their seats quietly and listening to the teacher talk.
I want my students to learn outside the box and realize that there are several capacities in which academic success can be reached by all learners.
My goal is to get my students excited about hands on learning. Without the adequate and necessary materials, it becomes very difficult to achieve success.
My students struggle to have all the items they need. On my list of materials, you will see glue sticks, crayons, pencils, markers, and erasers. These materials are the framework for everything we do in class, from coloring a worksheet to coloring in a graph with a STEM project. Some students just don't have the resources they need to always have all the materials that are required in class. It breaks my heart when I have planned an exciting lesson and I have some students that do not have the required materials.
