Students get better at reading by practicing, practicing, practicing. If students do not read, they will not improve, they will continue to struggle, and they will grow up to dislike reading.
Teachers of young children especially, need to make reading fun, enticing, and exciting, if they want their readers to grow. Children and adults alike enjoy reading when they are comfortable. Our classroom only has hard plastic chairs that they sit in all day and a wooden bench attached to the wall in our cubby area. This project was created with comfort in mind. I would like to create a comfortable and inviting place for students to read, so that they want to go to the reading center and relax with a good book. These multi-angle floor chairs are the perfect item to add to our classroom for reading time. They are collapsible for easy storage and washable to keep sanitary throughout the year. These seats will encourage students to read and in turn create better readers in our schools.
