My students are now transitioning into the new Common Core State Standards (CCSS). I want my students to have access to resources and materials that will help them be successful when working both independently and in groups. By the end of the year, I want my students to be confident, collaborative leaners who feel successful and proud of their accomplishments.
My school is a welcoming place in which to learn and teach. We have a strong community where teachers and parents work hard together to support all student learning. We have a wide range of student populations. In my classroom, we have Spanish, Chinese, Korean, English and French speaking students. Many of my students have never been exposed to a classroom setting while other students come in able to write their name and numbers. My students have a wide variety of talents, hobbies, interests and skills. The tangible materials I am requesting will make learning easier for all students, including my English Language Learning students.
