Hands On Learning allows students to take charge of their learning and practice skills by actively doing something. My students are high performing gifted students that are often bored when they aren’t actively engaged or critically thinking. Making sure students are engaged is an essential component in motivating them. I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a project or hands on activities rather than seat work. They are more engaged and interested in what they are learning. When I started implementing hands on activities, my students began to perform better on test and in class.
I have seen how choice and engagement can positively affect my students work and demeanor and hope that the additional options will help us grow even more!
