My students are hesitant readers. I want to show them the wonder and power of reading through books that mimic some of the challenges they face as well as entertain them. I am requesting class sets of the books Wonder and Peak as both of these fulfill that need.
These books are relevant, interesting, and hold lessons that will be important for my students to learn about and discuss as a class. Although we have several small sets of books at my school finding a set of books big enough for the entire class to read at once is rare. I hope to use these class sets to have class-wide discussions about the issues brought up in these books.
