Our 5th-grade class is in need of some high-interest, easy readability biographies to enhance our non-fiction work. I would like a variety of choices for my students to be able to pick a person of interest to them for study and research. The "Who Was?" series provides all that. Working with biographies allows students to see many people who have overcome difficulties, persevered in the face of failure, and have achieved goals. The "Who Was?" biography series includes people to study from many different cultures and backgrounds so my students can learn about role models from all walks of life.
