The materials that I am requesting for my students will be used for a 40 books challenge! Each student is challenged to read 40 different books from 8 different genres (from realistic fiction to mythology, to informational text) throughout the school year. My students have always loved my classroom library, but I need to expand it this year and offer students books that they will be able to read in a within our 4th grade classroom. The books that have been included will allow my students to choose from a variety of books in each genre. When they complete they challenge they will have read over 4,000 pages by the end of the year. My students have always loved to read and offering these additional book choices will hopefully provide them with a greater love of reading.
