Make a donation Ms. DaCorta can use on her next classroom project.
My name is Patricia DaCorta and I am a fifth grade ELA and Social Studies teacher at an elementary school in Flushing, New York. I am requesting the donation of a printer for my fifth grade classroom.
A printer would greatly help me plan my lessons in the curriculum areas of human rights and civil rights by allowing me to give each student a copy of articles found online that will enhance our studies.
The resources I use to plan these lessons come from many different sources. In the past, I have used The New York Times, National Geographic, Time Magazine, and Scholastic News. I have used articles, editorials and book reviews on such topics as child labor, the plight of the Rohingya in Myanmar, ethnic cleansing, The Great Migration, Emmett Till and John Lewis. Having a printer in my classroom will help me make copies of these resources and have them available for my students to analyze and annotate. Thank you for taking the time to consider my request.
