Bucks Hill is a Pre-K through 5 classroom in Waterbury, CT. We are in a very urban area that features students predominantly from low SES families. The school is a Title I school and 95% of our students receive free or reduced lunches. Many students struggle to obtain the necessary supplies they need to be successful in school in addition to needing things like food and clothes at times. Despite all of these factors, the students are remarkably resilient and show up to school every day with smiles. Bucks Hill is a very tight knit community and the students work so hard, they deserve to have everything they need to be successful. I teach 5th grade Math and Science and my goal is to provide each student with a fun, engaging, safe environment to develop their hearts and minds.
