My students are English language learners and would really benefit from having reliable technology they can practice with. They have trouble reading and writing in English which causes their work to suffer. Their accommodations do not allow me to read their tests to them, so many of them struggle and their grades suffer for it. Even though they know the material, not being able to read causes their grades to drop drastically. Many read on a kindergarten level and they are in second grade. The school offers a few programs to help the students with their reading and having a reliable tablet or an e-reader will enhance their learning so much. The computers here are old and unreliable. The students can use the new technology to practice reading and even writing in English.
