Visual supports, communication supports, behavioral supports are all crucial elements to my classroom. I support students in various ways utilizing visual schedules, visual aids, communication and behavioral supports (token economies, 'first-then' boards). I also use teacher-made materials to help differentiate lessons and provide ways for students to learn new skills using file-folder games with Velcro (such as one-to-one correspondence tasks, counting tasks, reading comprehension, or matching letters, shapes, etc). I have been creating these materials from home using my own supplies, so I will continue to be able to support families and students through the funding of this project so parents will be able to carry over learning in the home environment. At the end of the school year, I will gather supplies/materials that I have created and continue to use within the classroom as we return to a face-to-face model of learning.
