Beginning musicians have a lot of new skills to learn! How to care for and hold their instrument, how to position their fingers, and how to read notated music are just a few of the mind-boggling tasks before them. Currently at our elementary school, students have to sit on the floor with their music book propped open as they struggle to learn how to hold and play a recorder or ukulele.
Being able to put their music book on a brand new, colorful music stand would be a big help to my students as they begin their instrumental journey into the wonderful world of music-making.
A music stand will make them feel like a "real" musician and the variety of colors will make our music room a happy place to be. These music stands have the capability of being folded and placed in a carry case by the students so they will be extremely portable between the two school buildings in our district.
Learning how to play a classroom instrument with a room full of students can be a challenging, exciting experience and with the addition of these music stands, my students will eagerly "take a stand" each day for music class!
