We have a growing drumline at Heywood Avenue school, where older students model and work with younger students to help them learn out cadences. We only have one set of quads, and since they are a unique set of drums, we have nothing that can mimic or take its place - this means we have 1 quad player, and if he’s out I have to play. I can’t help the other drummers when I am playing quads. We have no cymbals at this point, and I’d love to add some to our line. Our 7th grade students are eligible to play with the high school band, which can lead to scholarship opportunities in the future.
