I'm so excited to start the 2018-2019 school year on the right track. I'm asking for supplies to support my students' learning. We go through many pencils every year. The students write in every subject to explain their thinking. A new pencil sharpener and boxes of pencils would greatly support our writing. Name tags are another useful tool to start my students on the right track. The name tags I picked from Lakeshore are perfect because they provide the students with information that they can reference throughout the day.
My goal as a first-grade teacher is to get my students to be fluent readers. I have asked for many leveled readers and book sets from Lakeshore. I believe these books will help my students reach our goal.
The nonfiction sets we will be reading during Science/Soc. St. in small groups. We will discuss the text and practice reading the stories for fluency. The other leveled readers I would like to use as a resource for students to take home for practice. I often have students ask me for books to take home. I have many students that don't have access to books outside of school. The leveled readers are an amazing tool because they are at the correct reading level. Thank you so much for your support!
