The poverty cycle affects my students in many ways. Poverty can be passed from generation to generation because of many factors. Having access to a subscription of Scholastic Magazine is a great way for my students to explore more informational text. This magazine provides great resources for students to also learn about current events in the world around them. Having access weekly helps my students learn both their science and social studies standards. My students also will be able to access the technology portion of this great magazine by listening to the words read to them, watching real videos about the topic, and to play skills games for assessments. When finished, students can collect and enjoy their colorful magazine at home!
This school year has been extremely hard for several of my students due to the impact of Hurricane Harvey; however, they still work very hard every day to obtain academic achievements.
My students are motivated when they know a "real person" has invested in their educations! Your contribution to this project will help my students develop life skills that will make them better parents, homeowners, tenants, employees, and citizens.
