Through the use of balance balls, floor seats, and wobble cushions, students will be able to move around while also learning reading and math strategies. Flexible seating will motivate students to attend class and encourage students to take responsibility for their own learning.
I am requesting flexible seating for my students because I know how active fourth graders can be. Students will use balance balls, wobble cushions and floor seats during small group (centers) time. During small group (centers), students are working on various activities to promote usage of reading and math strategies taught during whole group. Flexible seating will allow students the opportunity to choose where in the classroom is the most ideal learning area for each individual student.
