Imagine you’ve sat all day in a stationary plastic chair. You’ve tapped your foot all day and what you need is actual movement! An academic paper written by Matthew Mahar, et al (2006) states that long periods of instructional time without a break might be counterproductive to academic performance.
As the academic day gets longer and recess times become shorter, I must find creative ways to stimulate movement in the classroom. I cannot expect collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking if my students are stuck in rows all day. So, for my students, I would like a selection of seating options that increases movement, stimulate a students’ sense of touch and helps them feel empowered to make choices that impact their learning.
The wobble stools will help encourage active sitting that allows students to find comfortable and ever-changing positions. The stability balls encourage kids to build a healthy posture and improve balance. Your donation will help students become ACTIVE learners!
