We have three student computers to share among 25 students in our classroom, no computer lab, no library and no librarian, but that doesn't keep us from loving technology! We have a student technology squad and share our computers to practice Hour of Code. We share to complete our research projects, practice our math facts, hone our math problem solving abilities and improve our phonics and reading comprehension skills using amazing websites that support all that we are learning in first, second and third grade.
But what if we didn't have to share? What if we weren't limited to 15 minutes of computer time a day. What if this resource could be used to individualize instruction for every student? What if we weren't left behind the children who had access to their own computer station? We already do amazing work with what we have, but I know the children would flourish in ways no one could imagine if they had their own stations. All they need is the chance.
