PAA has been very supportive of the music program overall, but we're missing one essential element and that is music stands! Without stands, students need to place their music on the floor which leads to poor playing position and strained necks. When our band program begins this winter, it is imperative students have music stands to avoid injuries from incorrect posture.
Music stands will help our students feel and look like serious musicians. Purchasing one clarinet and one trumpet for the school will allow two low-income students whose families cannot afford to rent an instrument to participate in the band program each year.
Our music stands will also be used in our everyday music classes for students in grades three through five.
