Our school has just recently been introduced to PBIS, Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports. We are working toward implementing this behavior system school wide to improve behavior by presenting rules and procedures in a positive light. Our hope is to take the negative attitude off "behavior."
Part of this school-wide program is implementing a reward system. Students in all grades will receive "bucks" for positive behavior to cash in a school-wide store for prizes and small toys. Since our school is small and lacks room for a classroom to be used, our PBIS team decided that these prizes and small toys would be best held in portable rolling carts. These carts will be held in specific classrooms by grade level. On "cash in" days, the carts will be easily pushed around for students to "shop."
