A large portion of my language arts students are ESL students. One of the areas that my language arts students struggle greatly with is reading/writing, and vocabulary skills. I've selected a few language arts activities, that can be played during language arts centers within a group, or independently when student work is complete.
My goal is to teach my students, that hands on language arts games & activities can make learning fun! As they are engaged and playing these language arts games, they will also be learning critical skills needed in 5th grade. These skills include identifying main idea, recognizing multiple meaning words, building up vocabulary, and using context clues to help build critical thinking.
