At our school, students severely lack access to technology and beneficial uses of it. As sixth graders, there are a variety of concepts and projects that I would like to expose my students to, but am unable to because of the lack of resources.
Technology can be used to enhance student learning experiences. Instead of reading about volcanoes, they can use the tablets to research specific volcanoes and film using a green screen. When studying about heat and energy transfer, we can use thermal cameras on the tablets to study heat first hand and develop experiments. The samples listed above are just a few on a long list of ideas I have of ways to use the tablets in the classroom. The tablets will allow my students to engage in learning in a whole new way.
