One of the biggest struggles in my classroom is finding somewhere comfortable to sit. Our classroom is entirely linoleum flooring which is difficult when asking 1st graders to move around the room to work. I am asking for a rug and 2 bean bag chairs to put in our library space in the classroom. This will provide a comfortable quiet space for groups to rotate through my classroom library. I have also requested some inflatable donut seats and some portable lap desks that will give students a chance to sit anywhere in the room to read or work on other activities. Lastly, I have requested some exciting new books for students to continue falling in love with reading! Some of the books were chosen to inspire students, others are to teach them kindness, and some are just simply for fun!
Overall my #1 goal in my classroom is for my students to love learning and love coming school! I believe that these requested items will serve as a tool to do just that. There will be more spaces for students to work together and independently with this flexible seating style.
