Collaborative partner conversation figures largely into my students' school days. Having a rug will allow for a greater level of organization during collaborative conversation time. By sitting on a dot, students will be linearly placed, thus making it easier for them to be paired up for partner discussion. Providing students with a comfortable rug to work on will increase their enjoyment and engagement during class time. Additionally, giving students a distinct place to sit at carpet cuts back on the transition time during the school day, thus increasing their instructional minutes. For my young learners, having a carpet in class would be such a huge blessing!
