This will be my first year with flexible seating. I am requesting this project so that I can provide many choices for my students so that we can all learn in a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Giving students options and the ability to take ownership of the classroom has been proven to increase success.
Another teacher on my campus has shown me how to do flexible seating and shown me a variety of options that I think my students will enjoy.
The floor pillows and round table would create a table where students can sit at the floor and work similar to how we used to sit at the coffee table and draw as kids.
The laptop trays and clipboards will allow my students to go anywhere in the classroom and still have a surface to work.
Bean bags and saucer chairs will create a reading circle where we can gather each day and read or meet for whole class lessons.
The stools will give students an option besides regular chairs and help their posture. They also double as storage.
All of these supplies would help my students greatly and I would also appreciate it.
