Several of our friends have had a hard life and have lived through some very troubling times. With the many exhibited behaviors of aggression and anger, we work diligently on helping children learn how to self-regulate and calm down before the behavior escalates.
Our goal with this project is to provide an area for our children to go to when they feel aggravated, upset, or angry. The comfy corner seating is great for the children to set at by themselves and cool down. The CD/cassette player will be utilized to play calming music or books on tape so they can cool down from their upsetting time. We will also utilize the feelings books in this area so that the children can see the pictures of the feelings and learn how to control those feelings.
