Students will use the novel Feed to make literacy connections between English, Environmental Science and Agriculture. The novel provides a futuristic view of the world when we do not take care of the Earth.
Feed makes connections to current events. The Amazon Rainforest fires and people's views of the importance of economic development over caring for the Earth's resource will be related back to Feed. Feed will inspire the students to develop service projects to protect our planet. Feed will encourage the students to create a powerful message for the Recycling at DCHS PSA Service Project. This service project will inspire the Decatur Central High School community to reduce their ecological footprint by increasing the recycling of materials throughout the school day.
