The tables that I currently have in my classroom are no longer suitable or safe for my students’ needs. I inherited them from a former classroom and they are intended to be used as computer tables. There is a partition underneath each table which prevents the students sitting on one side of the table to adequately pull up to the table. Because of this, students chairs are intruding into the walking lanes of the classroom, making transitions and movement difficult and unsafe. The edges of the tables are also peeling off, leaving rough, unfinished edges. New classroom tables would allow my students to sit properly at their work spaces and move around the classroom more efficiently and safely.
