Most of my students come from low-income families, therefore, they do not have the money to buy books to their children. I am special education teacher in a resource lab classroom. My students have academic and social deficits. Everyday I encourage my students to read so they could increase their vocabulary and expand their knowledge. I know having a variety of books will expose them to a world of literature. Unfortunately, my school site is a small building so we do not have space for a school library. Having a resource lab library in the classroom will allow students to choose high quality books and check them out so they can continue their reading at home.
