Children need to be comfortable when reading and learning. By providing the students with flexible seating, the students our allowed the opportunity to sit close to me and listen while I read engaging stories. I especially enjoy that part of my instruction. It is so rewarding to hear the children gasp with surprise or cheer during my readings.
Additionally, the flexible seating will allow the children to sit around the room and form small groups to discuss projects. Or, they can spread out and read comfortably independently.
The extra big beanbag chair will be part of my calming center. Sometimes the children need time to readjust and reflect. The beanbag will provide a soothing space for them to regroup.
