Three years ago, student desks were replaced with group tables and chairs to create a more collaborative environment. Even though the tables are a really great addition to the classroom, there is now a huge need for classroom storage. I have tried many different solutions, like trays, bookshelves, and plastic bins. With multiple attempts and limited space in our portable classroom, nothing has truly filled my students' needs. With 33 students, a lack of organizational systems can cause disorder, clutter, and stress for my students and me!
This is why my students desperately need storage cubbies.
Fourth graders are still very much learning how to organize and that everything has a place. Keeping things in the classroom organized will help my students access their supplies without wasting precious instructional minutes. Organization is an important life skill we can practice in the classroom!
