Our school is in New York and is a pre-k-8 building. Our school has over 900 students from low-income families. Over half of our students are English Language Learners and in total there are 63 languages spoken by students in our building! These kids work HARD all day, attend afterschool programs and Saturday school. Many then go home and help out their families whether they are doing chores, babysitting siblings or interpreting English for their parents. These kids are the best!!!
