These materials will enhance our outside playtime by providing fun and engaging opportunities to build and develop students' gross motor skills. Because many of our students spend hours watching television or playing video games when they are not at school, they have poor gross motor skills.
Students will use balance boards and stepping stones to strengthen their core muscles and improve their balance. Jump ropes will help them develop endurance, coordination, and agility. A variety of balls and catching materials will enhance their eye-hand coordination and timing.
In addition, important social-emotional skills will be practiced as we collaborate, take-turns, share, and use teamwork!
