Students are hard on supplies. That's a fact! But the reason that we fly through supplies so quickly is because we are working hard and learning as much as we can on a daily basis! We need school supplies that can stand the test of time (or a school year) so that we can keep moving forward. The pencil sharpener is the most basic and usually worst made school supply of the bunch. We are always searching for sharpened pencils. We are also currently using 4 year old Chromebooks that are beginning to lose their touch pads so we want to use regular wired mice to access them. We ask students to bring headphones from home in the beginning of the year, but those headphones are inexpensive and poorly made, and are falling apart by winter break.
We need supplies that will last! The pencil sharpener in our classroom sees a lot of action on a daily basis. By helping us to purchase a sturdy pencil sharpener, students will be ready to work and won't spend time searching for sharpened pencils, or forced to buy them on their own. In order to get more miles out of our Chromebooks, we are looking for a mouse for each student. This will solve the problem of broken touch pads as well as help the students manipulate the Chromebook with a little more ease. Finally, solidly built headphones will all students to use read-to features without distracting their classmates.
