Novel Comes Alive Meeting a "Lost Boy of Sudan."
MY STUDENTS
My 6th grade students, just as many adults, rarely have the opportunity to meet a person who actually typifies a major character in a novel.
They live and go to school in a small city just across the river from Boston, Ma. Since many of our students have parents who work several jobs, it is not often that they are able to visit museums or have field trips with their families in out of school time that will enhance their background knowledge.
In addition, the school budget also has become very tight for such enrichment activities during the school day.
