My class of first graders shares a set of headphones with two other second grade classes, two other first grade classes, and a special education classroom. Due to this extensive use of one classroom set, our headphones are often in various states of disrepair or broken altogether. Some of the headphones are unable to adjust to my students' heads, making them uncomfortable to wear. This is discouraging and frustrating to my students who are getting on various educational programs, such as iReady, to extend their knowledge and practice reading and math skills in the classroom.
Having adequate functioning headphones would help keep my students focused and encouraged to work on the educational programs we use in our classroom to extend their reading and math skills.
My students have already grown so much by practicing their skills with these programs. It would be wonderful to see even more growth as we are preparing for second grade. Programs such as iReady keep learning fun and engaging for students. By providing K11 headphones for my students, they can focus better and longer and therefore, work harder on these programs!
