AMS has teamed up with Special Olympics to promote and create social inclusion between individuals with and without intellectual/physical disabilities through sport and a wide variety of activities. It was inspired by a simple principle: working together is a quick path to friendship and understanding.
We would like to take our students, with and without disabilities, to an afternoon out on the town. We would like to start our afternoon out at Galaxy Movie Theatre where they will watch a movie together and take a tour of the behind-the-scenes magic that happens at the theatre. After the movie, we will head over to Round Table Pizza where our students can enjoy lunch together.
This is a really great opportunity for our students to build friendships off our campus, develop social skills that are needed in society by observing positive peer models and having a fun, positive and rewarding experience together.
