My students are in need of materials to help them build their knowledge of reading and writing. Materials like sand trays, chalk boards, sketch pads, and composition notebooks are used to practice breaking words, finding word parts, and to create games that help students learn to read.
My goal is to help my students learn to read in fun and creative ways! I plan to use chalk boards to help students gain fluency with words, to practice writing the words, and then use the paintbrushes to have students use water to practice the words in a different way. I plan to use composition notebooks to help students practice using their new vocabulary.
I plan to use sketch books to have low readers record sounds in words and practice their writing fluency. Using these materials, I believe my students will be more successful and competent readers.
