My students have been through a great deal in their young lives. The rural community they live in has survived many disasters from hurricanes to volcanic eruptions. Many of my students have been affected by these things, some have lost their homes. Many come from difficult home lives and need coaching on various life skills, and social emotional learning as well as trauma based practices.
These items will help us fund our classroom store, where students can earn points for positive behaviors and then turn points in for items at the store. Our school does not have the budget to carry out a program like this and so far the teachers have been funding it out of pocket. It has been very successful but we worry that without help, we won't be able to continue. Any and all help is so very appreciated.
