鈥淚f you don鈥檛 like to read, you haven鈥檛 found the right book.鈥 鈥 J.K. Rowling. I hope to have enough books so that students can find the "right" book and they won't be so reluctant when it comes to reading. These books will help create a print-rich classroom. Students will be attempting a 40 book challenge within the school year and need a collection of books that are different genres, reading levels, and interest levels. In order to do this, I need enough books (and a variety of books) to meet the needs of at least 80 students.
By donating to this project, you will help get books into the hands of students in order to help instill a love for reading. Reading needs to be trending with middle school students!
Students will be participating in the reader's workshop model and will spend at least 20 minutes reading each day. During reading, I will be able to conference with students about their reading. They will also keep a reader's notebook and will reflect on their reading.
