Times are changing and technology is ever growing. At times my mathematicians are stuck in the "dark ages" due to the technology provided for them. My mathematicians have had to rely on the use of a old four function calculator or leftover broken scientific calculators passed down from other teachers.
My classroom is all about empowerment and in order to empower you must equip! These new calculators will help equip my mathematicians with the appopriate tools they will need to use every day in our classroom. By having new and appropriate calculators my mathematicians will be able to develop their critical thinking and successfully practice computing numbers to aid in that thinking. This will ultimately lead them to being proficient on their Algebra 1 End of Course Exam. This exam is a graduation requirement.
Every day I strive to give my mathematician the best. They deserve nothing less than the best. My students approach math fearful of failure. The moments where they finally understand something and that "light bulb" comes on are my absolute favorite moments. In my classroom I want my mathematicians to experience success more times than they do failure. With these new calculators they will have the best they deserve and will experience so much success!
