Think back to your first grade class, if you can. What do you remember the most? The teacher? Friends? Assignments? For me, it was my teacher. She tried her hardest each day to shape students love of learning. This is my goal and obligation as a first grade teacher!
My students will be able to use iPads in my classroom to engage in learning and to better enhance learning and student success. I am not asking for an entire class set, but just five iPads will be a huge help. I completed my student teaching in a county that was 1-1 iPads so I have a lot of training and experience with using iPads in the classroom effectively. iPads will help students by using reading enhancement apps/websites to help create stronger readers, iPads will help with research projects, creating engaging lessons by using a verity of apps, Google Docs, QR codes and many more! I have also noticed that students in my class (at the age of 6 and 7) have test anxiety. I try to make the best out of all the required testing that is needed. iPads can help with test anxiety by better preparing my students for the test by using real world simulations and by better engaging my students in lessons taught.
My students continue to surprise me each and every day!
I can only imagine what else my students will be capable of with the right resources in their hands and in this case the right technology to better prepare students for the 21st century world.
